The London Welbeck Hospital, a private cosmetic surgery clinic on one of London’s most prestigious medical streets, approached us to reimagine its reception and waiting area into a hotel-esque, welcoming space that fuses wellness, healthcare and hospitality.

Where many clinics in the district have turned ultra-modern and clinical, we saw the building’s traditional character as its greatest asset. Rather than stripping away the heritage oak panelling, we celebrated those original bones and layered over them a warm, modern, hotel-inspired scheme. At its heart is a statement reception desk with brass detailing and discreet joinery, anchored by a backlit heritage crest, alongside lightened panelling, warmer flooring, layered lighting and a statement chandelier, bespoke commercially-rated seating and soft, heritage-toned furnishings.

Every element was specified for the realities of a working hospital: Crib 5 fire-rated, durable and easy to maintain, with supportive seating for recovering patients, all without compromising the elevated, hospitality-led aesthetic. The result is a reception that no longer feels like a waiting room, but like the welcome to a premium private clinic.
